  I went and got a second opinion about my brakes (from a mechanic I trust who is unfortunately 200km away) and was told my brake pads only had 40% wear and my discs were fine, neither needed replacing.

  Went in for a service, and was informed I needed new brake pads and discs and in the state they were in I would need new ones very very soon. They told me it would cost around $450 to replace with the cheaper non-genuine parts, but when I called VW and asked they quoted the same price for genuine parts.

  Couldn’t rate these guys more highly. I’ve had to visit three times with minor issues (nails in tyres, brake lights) and each time they’ve managed to squeeze me in, fix the issue with a smile and have me on my way promptly. Especially grateful given a small baby on board. Today’s effort was next level. A big thumbs up from us!

  Made me wait 2 hours for a rego check when he said to bring it in at 8am. Then when he finally said it was done told me it needed $800 worth of work which it absolutely did not. Seriously such a stupid bullshit mechanic do not go here

  Also got charged more for the service than I was quoted due to "specialty oil", however, when giving the quote they knew my car is a VW and would require speciality oil, and should have quoted me correctly.

  I could not recommend Paul at Kmart Tyre & Auto Service Annandale highly enough. I've always had my car serviced by him, but recently, I called him because my car smelt of petrol and with a very young baby in the car I was concerned about it. He got me in really promptly and fixed the fuel leak that was identified. He also went above and beyond with the service - washing down the engine, airing out the car and pumping up the tyres to make sure everything was running smoothly.
